Construction managers plan, coordinate, budget, and supervise construction projects from development to completion. Construction workers construct, repair, and install building frameworks and structures made from wood and other materials.

Welders fuse and cut metal materials. They can work in several different industries, so welders might build structures or repair existing infrastructure. Welders are employed in various industries, including construction, manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, shipbuilding, and oil and gas.

Heavy Equipment Operator

A heavy equipment operator operates heavy equipment used in engineering and construction projects. Typically only skilled workers may operate heavy equipment, and there is specialized training for learning to use heavy equipment. Crane and Tower Operators operate mechanical boom and cable or tower and cable equipment to lift and move materials, machines, or products in many directions. Surface Mining Excavating Machine, Loading Machine, and Dragline Operators handle or tend machinery at surface mining sites. They use vehicles and tools equipped with scoops, shovels, or buckets to excavate and load loose materials.
