Commercial Truck Driver

Most tractor-trailer drivers are long-haul drivers and operate trucks with a total weight exceeding 26,000 pounds for the vehicle, passengers, and cargo. These drivers deliver goods over intercity routes that sometimes span several states.

Diesel technicians inspect, maintain, repair and care for diesel engines. Some diesel technicians specialize in a specific type of vehicle. When commercial transportation has malfunctioned, they diagnose the problems and find solutions.

Welder

Welders fuse and cut metal materials. They can work in several different industries, so welders might build structures or repair existing infrastructure. Welders are employed in various industries, including construction, manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, shipbuilding, and oil and gas.

Lineworker

Electrical linemen install, maintain and repair electric power lines and other equipment used in electrical distribution and transmission systems. Linemen are expected to work through the intricate processes of electrical work while maintaining balance and composure at great heights.

Heavy Equipment Operator

A heavy equipment operator operates heavy equipment used in engineering and construction projects. Typically only skilled workers may operate heavy equipment, and there is specialized training for learning to use heavy equipment. Crane and Tower Operators operate mechanical boom and cable or tower and cable equipment to lift and move materials, machines, or products in many directions. Surface Mining Excavating Machine, Loading Machine, and Dragline Operators handle or tend machinery at surface mining sites. They use vehicles and tools equipped with scoops, shovels, or buckets to excavate and load loose materials.

Industrial Maintenance

Industrial machinery mechanics and machinery maintenance workers maintain and repair factory equipment and other industrial machinery, such as conveying systems, production machinery, and packaging equipment. Millwrights install, dismantle, repair, reassemble, and move machinery in factories, power plants, and construction sites.

Automotive service technicians and mechanics, often called service technicians or service techs, inspect, maintain, and repair cars and light trucks.

Biotechnology BioManufacturing

Entry-level process technicians work in Bioprocessing, Pharmaceutical, and Chemical Manufacturing. Biomedical Equipment Technology program prepares individuals to: Set up, maintain, and clean laboratory instruments and equipment, such as microscopes, scales, pipets, and test tubes Gather and prepare biological samples, such as blood, food, and bacteria cultures, for laboratory analysis Conduct biological tests and experiments Document their work, including procedures, observations, and results Analyze experimental data and interpret results Write reports that summarize their findings
